![]() Repeat as needed.Īfter you have synced successfully, you can left-swipe the old sync location, and choose Clean to remove the sync data from the old location. If you are using a full sync, i.e., Download Files: Always, the content of the files in fully synced databases is already local to DEVONthink To Go, so tap the new location and sync a database. If you are syncing to a new location to which you’ve already synced your Mac, the contents of the files should be in the sync location already. You have to create groups in DT anyway, so no extra work there (+/- 5 minutes). Tag your documents there (like you have to do in DT), use Hazel to sort stuff into folders. If you haven’t excluded the sync store from synchronizing via the Dropbox app you can delete it from the Dropbox folder on your computer, too. It is named DEVONthink or has the name extension. DEVONthink To Go will pull the contents from the old location to upload to the new sync location. Devonthink is unintuitive, feature-bloated, ugly, and difficult to use. Visit the Dropbox website, navigate to the folder Apps and delete sync store folder there. Tap the new location and sync a database. If you are using a shallow sync, i.e., Download Files: On demand, and you are not syncing to a new location already synced by your Mac, you must leave the old sync location active. Add the new sync method, adjusting the options, and saving it. In DEVONthink To Go: Tap the Edit link in DEVONthink To Go’s Settings > Sync: Locations. Enable the new sync location, adjusting the options for the location as desired, then sync a database. Additionally, audio, video, screenshots, and websites. It allows capturing notes in many possible formats. It can be used as a menu bar item or a floating index tab, it can be triggered with various shortcuts. This will remove the sync data in that location. The DEVONthink Sorter One of the best features of DEVONthink is its fantastic sorter. In DEVONthink: Control-click the sync location in DEVONthink’s Preferences > Sync and choose Clean Location. The sync data isn’t shared between locations. Record record : The record to deconsolidate. There is no direct switching between sync methods, e.g., between iCloud and Dropbox sync locations. Creation/Modification dates, Spotlight comments and OpenMeta tags are immediately updated. *From the DEVONthink script dictionary: deconsolidate v : Move an internal/imported record (and its children) to the enclosing external folder in the filesystem. I have to believe that there is something else creating a problem here, but I’m at a loss as to what to suggest you try. See the pinned topic at the top of this forum here. You can also select the folder (or a parent of that folder) in DEVONthink and select File>Update Indexed Items. You need to, in DEVONthink, navigate to that folder, and it will update the index. I only stopped using it when the sync command was incorporated into DEVONthink. So, if you add some files to an indexed folder in Finder, then search for that item in DEVONthink, it won’t appear. I also used a more complicated version of this script (included sync and deconsolidate commands) for a very long time on all my databases. There really isn’t anything to debug/troubleshoot to get working properly, and I’ve never seen DEVONthink remove any attached script from a group. When triggered, if the indexed group has internal records (documents and/or sub-folders), export them to the indexed group’s folder in the filesystem (Finder)*. The script is very basic, as it does only one thing. The DEVONthink Sorter One of the best features of DEVONthink is its fantastic sorter. I would prefer to work within DTP but probably best I avoid moving folders and files within DTP until I get the script working properly. Tested editing sample documents through the DTP interface and using Preview as external editor and these edits/changes replicated ok. ![]() Indexing DTP with Finder folder and moving Finder folders below level 1 external of DTP works for me = DTP and Finder Folder & File alignment. Reassign lost Scripts to DTP folder 1-6 and check movement errorsĭTP files do not align with Finder folders 1-6 ![]() I seem to have the opposite where moving Finder folders works but moving DTP with the script does not ĭTP - collapse & expand database = no shadow files (if thats what they are called) and DTP files align with Finder folders 1-5įinder - move folders 1-5 and files individuallyĬheck if sync file error reproduces when file generated in DTP rather than Finderįinder - move folders 1-6 and files individuallyĪssign Script to DTP folder 1-6 and check movement errorsĭTP (Note ) = Scripts removed from DTP automatically = possible cause of problem Does the triggered sync script work as expected if you do not move any folders in the Finder?
